Passman & Jones is founded by Sam Passman and Shannon Jones, Jr. as a partnership with twenty-five clients.

The Dallas Texans join the NFL and become the first major-league sports team in Texas.

Choosing Connection

Passman & Jones relocated to Adolphus Tower, which at the time was touted as “the most modern office building in the Southwest.”

Ray Charles moved to Dallas in 1955 and resided in a small bungalow on the corner of Eugene and Myrtle.

1963

Becoming A Part of History

President John F. Kennedy, the nation’s 35th president, is assassinated in a motorcade traveling west on Elm Street in Dealey Plaza.

Abraham Zapruder seeks the counsel of Sam Passman and Shannon Jones after capturing the Kennedy assassination on his Bell & Howell home-movie camera.

Moving Toward The Future

Passman & Jones relocated to One Main Place.

Dallas Love Field opened the “Terminal of the Future.”

Fighting For The People

With the help of Shannon Jones, Jr., Chapter 26 of the Texas Property Code, better known as the Buddy Holly bill, passed.

Promising to be the "mayor of all the people," Annette Strauss becomes the city's first elected woman mayor.

Passman & Jones relocated to its current office, Renaissance Tower.

Despite the devasting effects of the financial crisis, Passman & Jones kept going.

Jerry Alexander played a key role in drafting the Local Rules of Practice used in Dallas County’s Civil District and County Courts at Law.

The first 11.2 miles of DART’s 20-mile light rail transit starter system open.

Proving Your Worth

Raul H. Gonzalez, the firm’s longtime Administrator, represented Aetna during a meeting with President George W. Bush.

Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks was named the winner of the Maurice Podoloff Trophy as the NBA’s Most Valuable Player.

2009

Saying Goodbye

Passman & Jones lost both Sam Passman and Shannon Jones Jr. at the beginning of 2009. Sam and Shannon died within 30 days of one another: Sam passed away on January 21 and Shannon passed away on February 12. Both men had tremendous careers that left a significant impact on the industry.
