Shelter in place orders, cancellations, closures and postponements due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) have wreaked havoc on both large and small businesses.
During this challenging time, we want to reassure you that Passman & Jones, PC, a fixture in Dallas since 1952, is here to help and ready to respond to any legal questions you might have.
The firm is well equipped to deal with the legal issues arising from cancellations, business interruption, and potential bankruptcies caused or attributed to the coronavirus.
For example, you may have contracts or insurance policies that define your rights. Those policies and contracts should be assembled and reviewed thoroughly as soon as possible. Insurance policies often require that claims be made within a short time after the insured knows of the loss, and some contractual force majeure provisions require that notice be given or that steps to mitigate the damages be taken.
We are available to assist with the review of your policies and contracts. There is no advantage to waiting to find out the rights your business has under those contracts or insurance policies.
In addition, Passman & Jones’ commercial litigators have extensive experience representing creditors in bankruptcy court, including adversary proceedings and contested matters. If someone with whom you’ve done business files bankruptcy, Passman & Jones may be able to help.
