Beware of Corporate Compliance Filing Scam.  Some new entities formed in Texas are receiving unsolicited and unofficial notices about corporate compliance filing of corporate minutes and requesting payment of a filing fee.  There is no requirement to file corporate minutes with the secretary of state in Texas and the mailing appears to be an attempt to sell corporate minute books while making it look as though this is an official filing required by statute.  For more information, see the Secretary of State's press release at http://www.sos.state.tx.us/about/newsreleases/2008/061008.shtml.
